Simon’s "Brighton Beach Memoirs" get darker reading (Reuters)

Reuters – New York theater insiders have been wondering for months exactly how Chicago director David Cromer — currently hotter than hot thanks to the transfers of his acclaimed productions of “Adding Machine” and “Our Town” — would handle the high-profile assignment of staging the Broadway revivals of “Brighton Beach Memoirs” and “Broadway Bound,” which will run in repertory under the heading “The Neil Simon Plays.”

Halloween Audio Day 26: A Dream

So here’s something you don’t hear everyday–or, to put it another way, he’s not one of the first authors I ran to when conceiving of what to read for 32 Days of Halloween . It’s Franz Kafka and a short piece entitled “A Dream.” It’s been translated into English by our friend and yours, Dom

Shepard Fairey, Creator of the Obama "Hope" Poster Admits Lying to Court

Shepard Fairey, who has been involved in several lawsuits relating to whether or not his near copy of a photo of Obama is fair use, has admitted to lying in court and covering up evidence of which photo he used as the base of the “Hope” poster. On Fairey’s website he states: “While I initially believed that the photo I referenced was a different one, I discovered early on in the case that I was wrong.” According to the New York Times , this admission has resulted in Fairey’s lawyer, Anthony Falzone (the executive director of the Fair Use Project) to withdraw from the case.

Established Brand

While new business owners have to worry about very basic things like price setting, the problem is already solved when they deal with well-established brands like McDonald’s. For start-ups, deciding the right price for their products or services is never easy and much money is lost in experimenting with prices which could be too high or too low. In either scenario, the new investor makes losses which could ruin the business so if you do decide to buy mcdonald franchise you’re working with an established company name

Small Business Credit Still A Problem

The majority of small business financing comes from personal credit cards, home equity lines and business credit lines. As most small business owners know, all three of these have dried up, and there is very little sign that this is going to change any time soon. There are so many variables involved with this issue that it’s impossible to target the problem, specifically because it depends on what type of a business is owned and the region of the country a small business operates in to identify the severity of the problem on a local or regional basis, within the specific sector being served by the business.

Wi-Fi on Planes Coming – Slowly

U.S. airlines are adding Wi-Fi to more of their planes, but it could still be years before the biggest carriers have their fleets fully equipped with the wireless technology and passengers can expect to have access to e-mail and the Internet when they board any flight. Only one major airline, AirTran Airways, has equipped its entire fleet with Wi-Fi using a service called Gogo, which relies on ground-to-air gear over the 3 MHz spectrum from Aircell.

Art is a pizza box used by The Clash (Sunday Herald)

iPod changed everything, most music-obsessed over-40s had accumulated their very own personal rock’n'roll museum, or library, or perhaps a curious art installation featuring a wall of vinyl, three leaning towers of Jamming magazine and a 12ft column of fluorescent pink flexi-discs from 1977. Then, seemingly overnight, this self-same bounty became “a load of old junk fit for Oxfam”.

The symbol of the Halal Certification Authority Australia

I received this message by email yesterday and although I may not be as emotive as the author, I do believe all should be aware of “The symbol of the – HALAL CERTIFICATION AUTHORITY – AUSTRALIA”, (verbatim): The LHS symbol is that of the – HALAL CERTIFICATION AUTHORITY – AUSTRALIA This is a Muslim Association that collects money from the Australian Food Industry for this symbol so that Muslims will purchase the product. Yet we are told the Muslim population are only one and a half percent of Australia’s total! On a recent radio talk-back show a well know host was alerted to this practice. He hit a stone wall when trying to find out HOW MUCH money was paid to this organization and WHERE the money went.

Arthur was right after all…

Quote: Saturn moon ‘resembles Earth’ Posted 4 hours 7 minutes ago Updated 4 hours 8 minutes ago New research by NASA scientists reveals that one of the moons of Saturn, Titan, looks more like the Earth than any other body in the solar system. Their research was based on analysis of data sent back from the Cassini space probe. It shows that Titan has mountain ranges, dunes, numerous lakes, and possibly volcanoes, which are all features that make its surface strikingly similar to Earth
